The Children's Room offers thousands of great books, excellent reference sources, arts, crafts, and technology programs, computer and electronic resources, videos and DVDs, and "Quick Pick" bags of books and materials for different age groups.

Story and Activity Time (K-2nd grade)
On Mondays from 4:00-4:45 pm, come Relax at the end of the day with afternoon stories and fun story-centered activities ~ check the website for our list of upcoming Fall themes! No registration required.
Kids Knit, (Once a Month, ages 8 to 12)
Boys and girls, beginners and those who have tried knitting are welcome to learn a new skill and meet new friends at the library! Bring a set of needles, any size, if you have them. We'll learn together and work on different projects. Upcoming club meetings from 4:00-5:00 pm will be held on:
December 10th, January 21st, February 25th, March 18th, April 15th, May 20th.
Open Art Workshops
(3rd grade and up and Families)
Drop by the Library on Tuesday afternoons between 3:00-4:30 pm and explore different media, art methods, and make some great projects to take home. This is an open, unstructured drop-in program ~ no registration required. We will look briefly at different types of Art and then have art supplies, materials, and resources for you to explore and with which you can create! Some planned Afternoons include: Pop Art, Watercolors, Native American Sand Art, Mobiles, and more. Check the website for further information about upcoming workshops.
mommies time out
Need some time to connect with other Moms? Join us Tuesday mornings from 10:30 - 11:00 am in the Children’s Department ~ the little ones can play and you can enjoy a fabulous coffee. No registration required. .
Stories and Movement (Ages 2 to 5 yrs.)
Join us for songs, fingerplays, stories, and fun & easy crafts every Wednesday morning in the Library Community Room from 11:00-11:30 am. We have some great programs planned ranging from Apples and Pumpkins to Dinosaurs and more. Drop in Program ~ no registration required.
Friday Storytimes! (Ages 2 to 5 yrs.)
Come and share some super stories and make a related craft to take home. We gather at 11:00 am in the Library Community Room! Upcoming great storytime themes include: Farms, Skeletons, Cowboys, and much more! Drop in Program ~ no registration required.
Open Gaming & Media (all ages.)
On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:00-5:00 pm, drop by and test your skill on today's top Wii and Playstation games or enjoy playing some classic boards with friends.

If you are a Massachusetts resident you can get a library card. If you are five years old (or older!) bring proof of residency and come in and sign up.
